UNICEF Ambassador visits Western Equatoria State

United Nations Children Agency or UNICEF Ambassador from Japan on Wednesday headed a team from Juba, Central Equatoria to Yambio in Western Equatoria State.
 
Ambassador Agnes Chan says her visit was to acquaint with the situation of children in Western Equatoria and how to bring more kids back to school, Radio Easter reported.
 
She says they targeted 400 thousand children back to school in South Sudan, adding that some children started joining while others still need awareness and support to resume.
 
Ambassador Chan pledges that UNICEF and the government of Japan would continue to support South Sudan’s children.
 
The Ambassador appreciates Western Equatoria government for devoting to help women, children and youth to do useful activities including life skills.
 
Ambassador Chan in her meeting with Governor Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro appreciates his leadership and the entire government for keeping and promoting peace.
 
Governor Bakosoro appreciates the work UNICEF is doing in Western Equatoria specially in the education sector, complaining that some international organizations do not want to support peaceful states with developmental activities.
