Michael Makuei Lueth accuses Dr Lam Akol Ajawin in a press conference of instigating masses and western world against what he terms ‘national interests’.
He cites the opposition stance against 2015 general elections and constitutional amendment granting presidency and legislature office term extension as causing chaos threatening national security.
Minister Makuei criticizes Dr Akol against cautioning government for attacking Troika including the United States, United Kingdom and Norway as ‘incredible’ and ‘bias’ in a direct mediation of South Sudan conflict.
The Spokesperson says the government resolves to maintain Intergovernmental Authority on Development mediation with possible inclusion of other African Union’s countries after seeking consent from South Sudan presidency.
Minister Makuei adds that government demands non-African actors in peace talks to remain as observers, but not mediators.
The Spokesperson confirms that the government did not receive an invitation for the resumption of peace talks with SPLM/A in Opposition in April as expected.
