Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO Coordinator in Western Bahr El Ghazal raised concerns for the executive organ to appoint a female deputy governor in the future.

Stephen Robo Musa made the call after the State Legislative Assembly elected a female Deputy Speaker, Mary Emilio Bafuka, Radio Voice of Hope reported.

He welcomes and congratulates the state government for appointing a female deputy speaker as gratitude to all women of Western Bahr El Ghazal, saying gender is maintained in the state.

Mr Robo requests the female speaker to work for the reinforcement of human rights and women economic empowerment, urging MPs to work for the development of the state and the whole country.

He said CEPO strongly urges Western Bahr El Ghazal State government to continue demonstrating commitment for gender mainstreaming as a constitutional obligation.
