Stakeholders discuss realignment of South Sudanese Pounds

Stakeholders including political parties, executives, members of the national parliament, civil society organizations and public universities on Saturday in Juba discussed realignment of South Sudanese Pounds to avoid economic risks in the country.
 
SPLM Finance and Economic Affairs Secretary Gabriel Alak Garang said the meeting stressed the need to reunify the currency after studying it in consultation with the Central Bank and stakeholders, Radio Bakhita reported.
 
Mr Garang said the meeting recommended doubling efforts to achieve peace in South Sudan to help the country recovers from the economic crisis it experiences.
 
The Finance and Economic Affairs Secretary called on the conflicting parties to look at the impact of the declining oil prices in the economy of country and end war.
