Western Bahr El- Ghazal Governor has instructed the Ministry of Gender and Social Welfare Development to review all non-governmental organizations or NGOs and civil Societies’ mandates of operation in the state.
Rizik Zachariah Hassan in a ministerial routine tour says some civil societies have become opponents to the government instead of working as partners, Voice of Hope reported.
He cites a recommendation showing that little has been done by some organizations and that formal review and new directives on mandates are necessary.
Governor Zachariah warns some non-governmental organizations against working as business enterprises.
The state is expected to review the mandates of more than 152 organizations operating in the area.
