Hundreds of Christians turned up yesterday Sunday to celebrate a mass in honour of St. Peter and Paul, the patrons of the Catholic Diocese of Torit. Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese, Paride Taban said the two saints sacrificed their lives for the work of Christ so that the Church can grow.
He added that the feast of patron saints also coincides with the feast of the year of priests. Bishop Emeritus asked Christians to pray for the Diocese and the priests for the growth of the Church. Bishop Paride said that St. Peter and Paul had deep faith in spreading Christianity.

Eastern Equatoria state ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly security officials, Directors among other dignitaries in the state joined the rest of the Diocesan priests and Christians to commemorate the year of the priests as well as day of St. Peter and Paul.
