Equatoria legislators alert government to diffuse potential violence outburst

Central Equatoria State Legislators on Friday raised concerns of impending explosion of violence between cattle herders from Bor, Jonglei State and crop growing natives of the Equatoria region due to sweeping destruction and invasion of livelihoods.
 
Kajo-Keji County Lire Payam Constituency Member of Parliament Oliver Mule Gabriel criticizes the presidency and state governorship for singing agriculture as means to boost economy without addressing roaming pastoralists destroying crops with impunity.
 
He warns that anybody interrupting people’s livelihoods would never be tolerated at all, wondering how a nation can be built with barren policies endangering the economy.
 
Kajo-Keji County Nyepo Payam Constituency Member of Parliament Dabe Francis discloses that the invading cattle herders are in their thousands armed up to the teeth demanding locals to vacate land for them to occupy.
 
Lainya County Kupera-Wuji Payams’ Constituency Albert Luwate Morjan warns that the persistent cattle problem may explode into physical confrontation after over tolerance, demanding for quick peaceful settlement.
 
The state legislators express frustrations over executive failure in implementing several resolutions passed on handling cattle.
