Pagan Amum said that his meeting with Mr. Johnnie Carson discussed implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), arrangements for conducting referendum; North-South border demarcation and formation of Abyei Commission as well, a statement from SPLM reported.
Mr. Carson affirmed to Mr. Amum the US Administration decision to expand US aid in Juba; aiming at preparing different assistance that the US would offer in addition to building diplomatic relations with Southern Sudan.
Mr. Amum stated that the SPLM has urged US Administration to effectively participate with other countries in preparation of the referendum scheduled for January9, 2010 to ensure free and fair results.
