South Sudan would join the globe on Tuesday in the commemoration of the World Tuberculosis or TB Day under the theme: ‘Reach the 3 Million: Reach, Treat, Cure Everyone’.
In a notice CRN obtained on Monday, national Health Minister Riek Gai Kok and World Health Organization Representative Tarande Manzila are expected to address the press in Juba focusing on how South Sudan plans to tackle the disease.
The Day aims to mobilize political and social commitment for further progress to eliminate TB as a public health burden.
The world marks World TB Day on 24 March every year as one of the world’s top health challenges with nine million new cases and deaths of nearly 1.5 million people each year.
