Western Equatoria Governor urges Christians to pray for peace

Western Equatoria Governor called on Christians to pray and support peace initiatives in South Sudan.
 
Bangasi Joseph Bakasoro who joined the English Congregation at St Theresa’s Cathedral in Juba on Sunday for the first time, appealed to Christians to pray for peace in the hearts of all negotiators, Radio Bakhita reported.
 
Governor Bakasoro appealed to the faithful to pray that the international community get South Sudanese plea to continue engaging the warring parties to seek peace in the country.
 
The Governor called on South Sudan political leaders to put national interest first, pledging that people of Western Equatoria would pray and join citizens of Juba in their perseverance for peace.
 
In a separate news development, Governor Bakasoro expressed Western Equatoria citizens’ disappointed following the collapse of peace agreement in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, hoping that the latest round of talks would bring peace in the country.
