WES Education Minister, Ibba managers discuss pupils’ performance

Western Equatoria Education Minister on Monday met Ibba Education managers headed by Acting County Education Director Wilson Zen Peter in Yambio, to indentify some key issues affecting performance in the Ibba County.
 
Pia Phillip Michael said Ibba was among counties that performed well in the previous primary eight leaving exams and the ministry wants to correct some areas of weakness for excellent performance next time, Radio Anisa reported.
 
Ibba Acting Education Director Wilson Peter cited challenges affecting performance in the county including lack of trained teachers and low salaries, unfinished syllabus; many pupils did no focus on their studies and lack of teachers’ commitment.
 
State Education Ministry Director-General Gibson Francis Waru expressed his gratitude to Ibba County education managers for responding to the call, urging them to have their work plan as professional teachers.
 
In a related development, the state Education minister met World Vision to discuss critical issues including lack of clean drinking water, conduct of workshops and opening of the road leading to the Tindoka Vocational Training Center.
 
World Vision Project Manager said they would only do some activities according to the funds availability, promising to address some critical issues.
