A good number of people gathered at St. Joseph’s parish this morning to mourn the death of a priest who died on spot in a car accident. Fr. Dominic Wani Terso, a 42-year-old catholic priest of the Diocese of Yei died in a tragic accident between Lainya and Yei yesterday..
Eyewitnesses said the accident was caused after an un-known driver tried to over take Fr. Dominic’s car on a high speed. The main celebrant at the funeral mass was Fr. Zakariah Angutuwa, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Yei.
Fr. Martin Ochaya Lino, Secretary General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba gave the condolences to the family and the Diocese of Yei on behalf of the Archdicoese of Juba.
Fr Samuel Abe of the Archdiocese of Juba explained that the death of Fr. Dominc occurred at the time when the priests, sisters and brothers were preparing for the reopening of the Parish of Lirya.
Fr. Abe said that Bishop Lokudu Loro urged the priests, religious sisters and brothers to join the family of Fr. Dominic and share in the difficult moment
Fr. Dominic’s body was buried today in the grounds of the St. Paul’s Major Seminary in Munuki.
