Foreign Minister said the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region or ICGR declared full support to the government, saying any force fighting against a democratically elected regime would be considered as a ‘negative force’.
Barnaba Marial Benjamin told journalists at Juba International Airport shortly after arrival from Luanda, Angola that the Conference understood the position of the young country, pledging to monitor peace process in South Sudan.
The Minister commended Great Lakes Region’s position to consider the opposition as a negative force like the one in Dr Congo.
Dr Marial said targeted sanctions which he described as ‘senseless’ would worsen humanitarian situation in South Sudan.
