The Vice Chancellor of the Catholic University of South Sudan called for inclusion of clauses of accountability in the coming rounds peace talks to allow investigation to people who committed crimes so that victims find justice.

Fr Mathew Pagan who was talking during the Sudd Institute conference on Thursday to make South Sudanese learn from the past, said bringing perpetrators to book would ease reconciliation, Radio Bakhita reported.

The Vice Chancellor said there was no structure and process of accountability in the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and people who committed crimes did not face the law.

He said accountability would contribute to the process of national healing.
