Heavy rain in Tombura detached the roof of Tombura County Headquarters building on Friday evening.
Tombura Press Secretary Samuel Muabida reported that the rainfall accompanied by strong wind and hill stones for the first of its kind in the season, removed iron sheets on the office of executive director, clerical, accountant and land committee sections, Radio Anisa reported.
He said that the incident happened while workers were still around, nobody was hurt and the workers tried their best to save all office gadgets from the rain.
Mr Muabida disclosed that a thatch house roof was also removed in Source Yubu Payam leaving a mother with her two children unhurt without a shelter.
He said the family in Source Yubu restarted repairing the roof on Saturday.
Muabida assured of general stable security in Tombura County.
