Yambio Football Association prepared members for general elections in Yambio, Western Equatoria State on Saturday.

Incumbent Chairman Jerry Kue announced his candidature to compete with other four members, promising to improve football, other games and help the youth distant from bad politics.

Another candidate, Richard Zizi Bugua complained that the time frame set for the elections is unfavorable to the young people who are not part of the current Association.

He insisted that if more candidates are not allowed to contest for the Yambio Football Association, other games would not develop.

Mr Zizi said if people voted him many friends from Juba and other parts of the country would come to Western Equatoria to join those on the ground to make football and other games professional in the state.

Yambio Head Coach Kon Acol Ajawin said coaches would not participate in voting, but only observe the process, urging players to vote wisely to bring visionary leaders to promote sports in the state.

Sports and games in Yambio and other counties face some challenges including management and shortage of materials among others.
