Japanese government approved grant assistance of three hundred and fifty thousand US Dollars to the Italian Volunteers’ Organization for International Cooperation or OVCI in Juba.
Japan Ambassador to South Sudan Takeshi Akamatsu and OVCI Country Representative Manuela Vittor on Tuesday signed the grant contract.
This project includes construction of training facilities and provision of the training to the medical staff in the public health sector in South Sudan.
Ambassador Akamatsu said responding to the humanitarian needs for saving lives is of utmost importance and no one can deny the urgent needs to help victims in dire need.
He believes efforts to enhance operational capacity such as upgrading skills of medical staff would bring a synergy effects on ongoing efforts by the international community in addressing current needs and the future of South Sudanese.
