Morobo County of Central Equatoria State marked the International Women Day by praying for peace under the theme: ‘Empowering women – empowering humanity for sustainable peace to happen’.
County Deputy Executive Director Francis Taban Henry called for recognition of women’s efforts for peace and love as backbones of families and the nation, Radio Easter reported.
State Member of Parliament representing Morobo County Maka Mustafa said the Day aimed to evaluate efforts of women in contributing to national development including good governance, peace building and education.
The officials were addressing peace prayer marking the International Women Day in Morobo County.
