Oxfam South Sudan Director says lasting peace requires far more than any power sharing deal between political and military elites.

In a statement Zlatko Gegic cries out that a critical opportunity to begin peace for communities across South Sudan is missed and wasted.

He decries the fact that South Sudanese will continue suffering with 2.5 million risking to face severe hunger by the end of March.

The director argues that without broad based consultative process inside South Sudan allowing women, youth, civil society and diverse ethnic groups, the future of the country, will not be just.

Mr Gegic calls on warring leaders to reconcile communities in desperate need of healing to improve on governance.

He adds that it is time to reform security, political and economic systems, deliver justice and accountability, equal sharing of wealth and resources to benefit all.
