Association of Media Development in South Sudan or AMDISS Training Coordinator on Wednesday revealed that the establishment of Media Development Institute in Juba is a test for introduction of journalists practicing course.

Nhial Bol Aken told the first sect of journalists participating in Media Development Institute that once the curriculum testing is successful, all graduates in Mass Communication or Journalism must undergo the practice course before being granted operation license like lawyers.

He reminded young reporters to take journalism as a career, but not job where they are only driven by financial gain.

AMDISS Vice Chairperson Veronica Lucy Gordon who declared the training opened, urged media practitioners to reflect sex sensitivity by voicing female sources as their male counterparts.

She disclosed that a recent survey showed media use only 34 percent female sources compared to male sources.

The Vice Chairperson challenged media houses to apply gender balance for equal opportunities.
