The President of the Republic on Monday left Juba for peace talks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as IGAD’s deadline to reach a final peace deal is finishing.
The Minister in the Office of the President Awan Guol Riak told reporters at Juba International Airport that President Salva Kiir Mayardit would bring peace to the country, Radio Bakhita reported.
Last week, United States or US authority threatened to impose sanctions on South Sudan if the rivals failed to reach a final peace agreement.
The threats include an asset freeze and travel ban for anyone interfering with the peace process after March 5, but China raised a concern over US sanctions for South Sudan.
