Yei Catholic Diocesan sixteenth annual meeting concluded on Sunday with 16 resolutions, and 11 recommendations including creation of more activities that attract youth to priesthood and religious life.
The meeting also recommended the need to create more income generating activities, coordinate actions between the diocese and institutions, parishes and religious congregations, Radio Easter reported.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe in his closing remarks, called for collective work among Christians, priests and institutions.
He said the diocese is growing every day, giving hope to Christians and priests for the need to do more to realize progress despite challenges.
The meeting also resolved that the theme for the year of family and consecrated life is: ‘A reconciled Catholic family: the domestic church called to holiness and promotion of evangelization and vocation to consecrated life.”
The celebration of the year of consecrated life and family is expected to begin at the parish level and end at the diocesan level at Christ the King Cathedral on the fourth Sunday of Easter in 2016.
