Lakes State Police said gangsters that are responsible for insecurity in Cueibet County will be disarmed.

Police Commissioner Brigadier Chol Alaak Ajak told Good News Radio that armed persons in Cueibet County escaped the ongoing disarmament process and terrorized the community at night raiding cattle.

Mr. Alaak explained that the gang was operating at night, employing what he described as “tactical manoeuvres” and avoided coming face to face with the army forces involved in the disarmament of civilians.

The Commissioner said that no matter how long it took, the gang would be disarmed.

Mr. Alaak explained that the security situation in Lakes State improved, adding that the few problems still experienced would be dealt with duly.

He said areas affected with insecurity include Cueibet, Central Rumbek, and the border areas with Unity and Warrap States.

Maintaining security in Cueibet County has been a daunting task for Lakes State Police force.

Yesterday, a vehicle from Don Bosco Mission, in Tonj, heading for Rumbek had to turn back due to reported shooting in Cueibet County.
