KIIR CALLS FOR SECURITY MAINTENANCE

The president of South Sudan called upon his new cabinet to maintain security as the main priority ahead of the upcoming referendum.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit told the new GoSS ministers after they took their oath that security and territorial integrity must be maintained in South Sudan.

Mr. Kiir added that development could not be carried out without security.

President Kiir noted that incidents of violence could be used by the opponents of the referendum to derail the popular consolation citing insecurity.

President Kiir affirmed that law- enforcers would be strengthened to discharge their duties much more effectively.

He affirmed that the organized forces must have an upper hand in enforcing the law to bring the lawless to justice.
