Saints Peter and Paul Assistant Parish Priest in the Catholic Diocese of Torit called for prayers and fasting during the Lenten period.
Fr Kalisto Lokuya said prayers and fasting is the only way Christians can strengthen their relationship with God to receive salvation, Radio Emmanuel reported.
He encouraged Christians to offer their services to the needy as they pray together, praying for the Lenten season to be a period of change and salvation to all people of God.
The Assistant Parish Priest was presiding over Ash Wednesday Eucharistic celebration at Sts Peter and Paul Parish Church.
