Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO in collaboration with Women Training and Promotion or WOTAP conducted a dialogue on United Nations Security Council Resolution or UNSCR 1325 under the theme ‘Women safety and protection’.
UNSCR Officer Lokoto Bismat Simon told Voice of Hope on Wednesday that the dialogue aims at evaluating progress women made on different issues challenging them in communities.
The official called upon government institutions and NGOs to promote women agenda at all levels.
State Gender and Social Welfare Minister Neima Abbas in her opening remarks advised women to enlighten communities on how to fight gender-based violence.
She appealed to the government to support girl child education in order to help reduced illiteracy rate.
The forum brought together chiefs, civil society organizations, police, prison wardens and youths representatives.
