Tombura-Yambio Catholic youth on Tuesday appreciated the spiritual trainings in the ongoing diocesan youth congress.

St Mary Tombura Parish choir member Elviria Fatouma Sarawasi said she learnt about the liturgy especially how to begin and close a mass and now knows songs that could be interrupted during the Sunday service, Radio Anisa reported.

She believed that the congress would greatly improve many youth who had confusions in the liturgy in different parishes, urging young people to be prayerful and united.

Tuesday’s first session facilitator, Fr Bagare Mathew Tanga said he taught Catholic liturgy, Bible sharing, peace and reconciliation, sacramental life and the call to holiness.

Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator Fr Diko Raphael cited major topics of the three-day training on spiritual, social and economical life of the youth.

About 500 youth gathered at St Mary Yambio Parish for a week long congress that was launched on Monday.
