South Sudan ruling party announced a five-point government policy framework that includes the referendum, good governance, security, food security and efficiency to fulfil promises made during the elections campaign.
Anne Itto, SPLM deputy secretary general for the Southern Sector and nominated GoSS Minister for Co-operatives and Rural Development, met this morning with the press in Juba to present the policy framework for the new government of South Sudan.
Dr. Itto said that the new executive would be a Refendum Cabinet to assure that the consultation on South Sudan self-determination would take place on time in a free and fair environment and its final result respected.
She added that the referendum was the top priority for the new Cabinet.
Dr. Itto said that good governance would be priority number two, promising transparency, accountability and effective popular participation.
She added that security represented the third main concern of the new cabinet together with economic security.
Dr. Itto announced food security through improvement of agricultural programmes and a better and more effective delivery of basic social services where the remaining priorities in order to reverse bad statistics concerning health and education situations in South Sudan.
