Ugandan authorities said they would train 1500 south Sudanese police officials in Uganda and South Sudan to boost public security and ease trade and development in the region.
Migadde Habib, Head of Chancery at the Ugandan Consulate in Juba, told SCR News that the first batch of police agents would be trained in Uganda.
Mr. Habib said that Ugandan police instructors would come to South Sudan to prepare a second group of police.
Mr. Habib added that the training was part of a programme of police reforms to enforce law and order and harmonize systems in the region.
Mr. Migadde explained that Ugandan police instructors were already involved in the training of South Sudan Police.
