Costa’s first division football tournament on Monday kicked off at Gbudue National Stadium in Yambio, Western Equatoria State.
Speaking during the event, George Costa, a member of National Parliament representing Yambio Constituency, called on youth to promote peaceful coexistence through sports, Radio Anisa reported.
He encouraged both first, second and third divisions football teams in Yambio in particular and Western Equatoria in general to strengthen their teams, urging fans to turn up for the finals on February 13 in Gbudue National Stadium.
Nile City team knocked horns with Yambio in their first match on Monday ending with 1-0 in favor of Yambio.
Six teams participating in the tournament would be awarded full set of uniforms and a ball and the winners will walk away with a trophy.
MP Costa organized the tournament with the aim of promoting peaceful coexistence and unity among youth in the state.
