LAKES GOVERNOR ADDRESSES RUMBEK SENIOR SECONDARY STUDENTS

The Governor of Lakes State paid a visit to Rumbek Senior Secondary School, pledging financial support to the institution that faces lack of space, teachers and food.Governor Chol Tong Mayay told the students that the school produced many leaders, some of them serving in the current government, Good News Radio reported.

Eng. Chol pledged support to the school, promising that his administration would ensure that the institution functioned effectively.

The governor explained that the schools had the potential of producing government officials to replace those in government offices who, he revealed, did not know how to write reports.

Eng. Chol warned the students against violent demonstrations saying he lost his tooth in a demonstration as a student in Khartoum.

He urged students to learn to solve problems through dialogue, comparing them to the members of parliament who sit to debate issues for the interest of the community.

The governor pledged to donate 200 bags of sorghum, two bulls and 20 thousand Sudanese Pounds in cash to the learning institution.

Rumbek Senior Secondary School faced lack of space and food after admitting over 600
students in first year classes.

The problem of congestion was resolved by introducing afternoon classes for some first year students.
