Female minister appointment excites Torit County

Excitement flared up on Friday in Torit town of Eastern Equatoria State following the swearing in of the female Minister of Gender, Culture and Social Development.
 
The residents expressed gratitude over Margaret Idwa Okuye appointment, saying her qualities made her eligible for the position, Radio Emmanuel reported.
 
One of the residents Jina Ifokho Paul recalled her good leadership in the church, hoping for progress in her work.
 
State Peace Commission member Savio Otwar said Idwa’s appointment fulfills the aspiration of the people of Torit County who were longing for a new minister.
 
Torit town Mayor Martin Odeki Ohuro wished the new minister long service.
 
Margaret Idwa is the third female to lead the Ministry of Gender, Culture and Social Development in tenure of Governor Louis Lobong Lojore.
 
Magdalene Atul Beato was the first female to lead the ministry after independence of South Sudan while Paska Hifta Oduho is the recent female in the position.
