The Catholic University of South Sudan Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Wau Campus on Thursday graduated its first batch of 19 students after successfully completing five-year bachelor degree studies.
Wau Catholic Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak encouraged the graduates to properly using the skills for serving communities responsibly, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
Western Bahr El Ghazal Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan acknowledged Catholic University, saying the state and the nation found an answer to one of the most difficult questions of illiteracy.
The University Vice Chancellor Fr Matthew Pagan called on national higher education authorities to address issues of English language and mathematics whre students face difficulties.
Graduates’ representative Siata Joseph Seme called on top official in public and private sectors to employ new graduates without demanding work experiences.
The Catholic University of South Sudan has a population of 1,350 students, 450 in Wau and 935 in the faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in Juba.
It began admitting students in 2008.
