Tonj Parish commemorates Fr John Lee

Sacred Heart Parish Tonj Christians and communities on Wednesday marched from Don Bosco Hospital to the church celebrating the memorial of Fr John Lee who died in January 2010.
 
Rumbek Catholic Diocesan Coordinator Fr John Mathiang who presided over the Eucharistic celebration, encouraged young people to take the example of the late Fr Lee’s generosity to help one another and live in peace and unity, Don Bosco Radio reported.
 
He told Christians and youth to be peacemakers in South Sudan and help parishes, and school to work for peace and unity.
 
Tonj Sacred Heart Parish Priest John Peter recalled that Fr Lee arrived in Tonj Don Bosco Mission in 2001 December and died of scars disease in January 2010.
 
He said the late was a Salesian father, Doctor and a mathematics teacher who built hospital and repaired Don Bosco Bongo Primary School for communities in Tonj.
 
He reminded that the late Fr Lee trained many young people with brass band in Tonj and also sponsored some students for high studies in Korea.
 
The Parish Priest advised Christians especially young people to pray for the late Fr John Lee and emulate his hard work of exerting more efforts on peace and unity in the country.
