South Sudan hosts 509,000 refugees globally

United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees or UNHCR said South Sudan is hosting five hundred and nine thousand refugees and displaced people across the world.
 
UNHCR in its Mid-Year Trends 2014 report, said South Sudan is among countries with the highest number of vulnerable refugees displaced by war in the world, Radio Bakhita reported.
 
It mentioned Somalia, Sudan, the DR Congo, Myanmar and Iraq as other leading countries of origin of refugees.
 
UNHCR said the report was based on data from governments and humanitarian organizations’ offices worldwide.
