Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan or ECSSS told citizens that Jesus Christ was born on Christmas to unite all tribes in South Sudan to become one people.

Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul during a Christmas carol celebration last week said the birth of Jesus was to bring freedom that comes from God, love for one another as brothers and sisters and to restore confidence that South Sudanese lost.

He recalled that South Sudanese forgot their identity after gaining independence because they returned to pride, dividing themselves according to ethnicity.

The Archbishop preached that Jesus came to give a new identity as Christians and family of God.

He warned that the country would not develop unless South Sudanese become one people of God.
