Tonj South County Education Director in Warrap State on Monday urged all pupils to follow the new calendar of South Sudan.
Samuel Mayiik said following the new calendar aims at completing syllabus to allow pupils perform well, Don Bosco Radio reported.
The Director called on parents and guardians to monitor their children because teachers reported that pupils come late to register in schools every academic year.
Mr Mayiik said United Kingdom supports schools in the country because education is the light and that without it the nation would be in darkness.
The Director urged parents and guardians who want to send their children to private schools to prepare money before February.
He called on head teachers to enlighten parents, guardians and chiefs to send their children to learn.
