Western Equatoria Fire Safety and Protection Department on Monday donated equipments to Tombura-Yambio Diocesan Secretariat.
State Fire Safety and Protection Inspector Henry Malish Louis disclosed to Radio Anisa in a telephone interview that they handed over fire extinguishers, overall, garment among others.
He urged the Secretariat and other churches using generators to send their staff for free training on how to use the equipments to fight fire outbreaks.
The Inspector said in their 2014 budget, Tombura-Yambio Diocese Secretariat indicated the need for fire safety and protection materials to save lives in case of any major fire outbreak.
The Fire Safety and Protection Inspector advised the public to avoid using candles in residential houses and shops because it can spread fire and put many lives in danger.
Radio Anisa could not reach Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese Secretariat official for comment.
