Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan Bishop of Wau Diocese advised pastoralists to use their guns only for protecting cattle.
Bishop Moses Deng in his Christmas message on Thursday, called on the cattle keepers to stop looting and killing people, but only use their weapons for protection while grazing their cows in swampy areas, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
The ECSSS prelate urged the conflicting communities to end violence across the country and start working for peace and reconciliation.
The Bishop called on all South Sudanese to forgive one another and unite to realize development.
