Yei Diocese Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan on Monday organized thanksgiving prayers for the recovery of Bishop Hillary Luwate Adeba’s car.
Yei Catholic Bishop Erkulano Lodu Tombe appreciated the government for its work and protection despite threats of some nation spoilers trying to tarnish the government image, Radio Easter reported.
He advised the government to be strong and watchful, calling for accountability for the murder of former Yei Mayoress and the nine people shot in one family in Lutaya area.
Bishop Luwate Adeba thanked God for goodness and protection, explaining that without Him he would have died together with his wife.
He explained that the robbers put him at gunpoint while looting, describing the incident as ‘shocking experience’ in his life.
National Member of Parliament representing Yei River County Paul Yoane Bonju said they would not keep silent to tell the parliament negative incidents, urging citizens and the church to work together with the local authorities to provide regular and timely information.
He said the government would ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and brought to justice.
The occasion brought Christians from different denominations, national and state governments’ officials at the Bishop’s residence in Yei River County.
