The Auxiliary Catholic Bishop of Juba Archdiocese called on media practitioners to disseminate accurate information or messages to masses.
Bishop Santo Loku Pio made the call during the tenth graduation batch of Radio Bakhita journalists on Saturday, Radio Bakhita reported.
He blamed some members of the press, terming them as ‘dead journalists’ for copying and pasting information to convey outdated messages to masses.
The Auxiliary bishop challenged media practitioners to be professional by focusing on accessing fresh updated information.
Bishop Loku acknowledged that journalism is a challenging profession, but encouraged media to continue salvaging the nation and people of God by avoiding disseminating violence inciting information.
He advised journalists to be patient like Angel Gabriel who was the first Minister of Information delivering the message of God to Virgin Mary about the birth of Jesus Christ the saviour of mankind.
