EMMANUEL RADIO MARKS FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Emmanuel Radio of Torit Catholic diocese completed today its first anniversary of broadcasting.

Fr. Lounoi Santino is the Communication Coordinator for the Catholic Diocese of Torit, in Eastern Equatoria, and the director of Emmanuel Radio.

Fr. Lounoi wrote in a note to the press that Emmanuel Radio is a community based station established to enable listeners to access information on current issues.

He added that Emmanuel Radio through the slogan The Voice of Peace promotes peace and development in Easter Equatoria.

Fr. Lounoi added that after the 2005 peace agreement in Sudan radio is identified as one of the critical tools that can benefit communities during the post war period.

Emmanuel Radio started its first on-air single testing on June 19, 2009, marking one full year on the airwaves, today.

The Torit FM station broadcasts on 89 Megahertz and is part of Sudan Catholic Radio Network.
