The National Constitutional Review Commission Chairperson said the ongoing conflict which erupted in December 2013 in Juba and spread to other states ‘adversely affected’ their activities.

Akolda Maan Tier told journalists on Thursday in Juba that civic education was not done in all ten states and that the supporting agencies stopped funding the Commission and left the country, Radio Bakhita reported.

The Commission Chairperson lamented that because of the ongoing national crisis, their time is expiring on December 31, 2014.

He said they requested the President of the Republic to initiate the Constitutional amendments.

Mr Tier said during the first draft of the permanent constitution, they were allowed to appoint some external experts.
