Tombura-Yambio Catholic Bishop on Wednesday described 2014 diocesan general annual assembly resolved to combat laziness in 2015, describing the meeting as unique because it came when South Sudan is in crisis.
Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala said the meeting wondered why violence continues in the country as many South Sudanese including political leaders go to pray in the church, Radio Anisa reported.
He mentioned that reports from various parishes indicated high rate of illiteracy and HIV infections, attributing them to poverty as the root causes.
Bishop Hiiboro said the assembly resolved to welcome foreigners with smiling faces, love them.
He said making reconciliation program a component of peace was one of the recommendations of the annual assembly.
