Priest says Catholic Charismatic Group misunderstood

A priest in Wau Catholic Diocese said ‘Catholic Charismatic Group’ is one of the renewal assemblies which some people misunderstood.
 
Fr Justin Atit while giving lectures during the Charismatic renewal conference on Tuesday said many Christians misunderstood the charismatic group of the Catholic Church, claiming it to be a group from other Christian denominations that believes in the Holy spirits, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
 
He said the spirituality of the laity in the mission of Christ is manifested in different groups of the Catholic Church including Charismatic, Legion of Mary and choir who help in preaching the Gospel of Christ.
 
Fr Atit urged Catholic Christians charismatic to live the life of the Holy Spirit because  every Christian has the ability to get transformed.
 
Holy Family Parish Priest Paulino Apinyi advised the Charismatic Group to initiate change slowly because most Christians in Wau do not understand their role.
 
He said though the Group is recognized in Rome, its members must be Catholic Christian and pray according to Catholic doctrines.
