Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan Bishop of Kajo-Keji Diocese described December 15 as a ‘sad day’ in the history of South Sudan, saying the people never expected another war in the country after over fifty years of struggle.
Bishop Anthony Poggo Dangasuk told CRN in a telephone that he hopes and prays that such day would not be experienced again.
He advised South Sudanese to have hope that the peace talks would yield fruits, calling on them to remain calm and avoid creating rumours that make people to panic.
Bishop Pogo urged the people to reflect, pray and remember the Internally Displaced Persons or IDPs and those who fled to the neighbouring countries.
He preached that Jesus Christ came into the world as a prince of peace, advising people to work for harmony as they prepare for Christmas.
Bishop Pogo appealed to political leaders to avoid occurrence of crisis, telling them to reflect on the root courses of the conflict to find a permanent solution.
