Political analysts in South Sudan are criticising Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD mediation for slow incoherent irregularities at peace talks in Ethiopia.

SUDD Institute Director for Training Zaccharia Diing Akol argued that IGAD is not consistent on the issue of inclusivity, Radio Bakhita reported.

He said addressing crisis needs the warring parties to meet together to talk but meeting them separately in sidelines.

Centre for Peace at the University of Juba Director Dr Luka Biong agrees that IGAD is quite bumpy though it made some little progress in the talks.

He cited IGAD’s failure to table the root causes of South Sudan conflict after signing several documents emphasising need to do so.

Dr Biong added that from IRI survey presentation, citizens have shown low confidence for peace through the IGAD led mediation process.

He said the African Union Commission of Inquiry report would be out soon to name those behind mid December 2013 crisis.

The analysts made statements during IRI survey presentation in Juba.
