Central Bank Governor arrived in Wau on Friday to discuss challenges affecting commercial banks, foreign exchange bureaus and staff of the South Sudan Bank branch in Wau.
Kornelio Koryom Mayiik told Commercial Banks and Foreign Exchange Bureaus managers in a meeting that his visit also aims at reviewing the services offered by commercial banks and other financial institutions in the state.
Mr Koryom said all Commercial Banks and bureaus promised to offer loans to reliable locals to boost investment and improve production.
He said commercial Banks have the responsibility to render not only normal banking services but loans that can effect development.
The Central Bank Governor restricted Dollar exchange to paying children school fees and medical treatment abroad, threatening to punish individuals who deviate.
Mr Koryom said local businesses do not need dollar but can maximize the use of the local currency and that Dollar exchange rate would be unified.
