United States or US Ambassador to South Sudan appealed to South Sudanese to use the Christmas season to redouble their efforts to peace by laying down weapons of destruction.

In a statement dated December 11, Charles Twining wrote that only through justice would South Sudan be able to live freely, reconcile with one another and end the long cycle of impunity to prosper.

He encouraged the nation to reflect on its long struggle for self-determination and honour all fallen founders by portraying meaningful national creed of ‘Justice, Liberty and Prosperity.’

Ambassador Twining hopes May 2015 would be the beginning of a brighter year for all South Sudanese to realize their dreams.

He commended South Sudanese for their resilience, bravery and that they would use such strength to unite the country and move forward.
