A South Sudanese professional musician who composed the National Anthem started harmonizing traditional music into modern bits to shine in the world musical scene in the near future as the young nation’s identity.
Addison Arkangelo Musa told Radio Voice of Hope that South Sudan traditional music is the best globally and that the world is looking at what would come out from South Sudan music not politics and other things.
He advised fellow South Sudan musicians not to borrow foreign bits because the country is rich with unique traditional music not found anywhere in the world.
Mr Arkangelo said the national traditional music has very good tuning which needs development rather borrowing Congolese, Ugandan, Kenyan and Tanzanian tunes.
He established a modern Music Centre in Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal training young people on guitar, keyboard, and violin collecting tradition songs and hitting their bits with modern musical instruments.
